If you are trying to promote a website and you are anything like me you will be sat at your computer for hours on end. Have you ever wondered why some people just seem to submit their website and it seems to be a success in a very short time. Others seem to spend month’s promoting a website just to find nothing seems to work.
So what do we do? Well a lot of those that seem to succeed online will literally invest huge amounts of money on advertising. Maybe in two years + they might just see a return or maybe they won’t. Have you ever visited website’s selling expired domains? Ask yourself this, why if they are such a success would they want to sell a top domain name. Simple they have to! They have spent their budget and have to get back as much money as they can. In the past I personally have wasted hundreds with Google Ad words that was until I got it right.
So what do we do? First of all why not invest in one of these top domain names. A lot of these domain names can be found containing, hundreds if not thousands of back links. This means instant real traffic for you. You may even be able to find one listed on dmoz. If you are trying this just make sure you find a domain name that is suitable to your website’s content.
The next thing to do is get as many links as you can, don’t just add links on high page rank site’s look for lower page rank directories as well. These sites are easier to get listed and may well be on the way up in the page rank race. Surely it is better to get listed 6 times on a page rank 2 directory within a week than submitting to a page rank 7 directory and then in six months time be turned away.
So now we have a very good domain name and we have plenty of links but it does not end there.
You should have good quality content on your website and this needs adding to on a regular basis or consider introducing rss feeds content is fresh and regularly updated just what the search engines are after.
Ezine articles are a must you should know about your website. For instance if your website is about keeping fish write a brief and topical ezine highlighting some of the important facts of keeping fish. Think of your ezine as a teaser of more to come. At the bottom of your ezine is your resource box enter your url, if your article is good people will surely visit your site.
Email campaigns can be a huge success especially if you are promoting a niche product but just make sure you choose a good and reputable company. An established company that has good support, ask a few questions from them first, or even ask them for a free trial of just a few emails first, if they are any good they won’t mind giving you a free trial.
