A man is judged by shoes he wears.

By: Mahak Bhalla

This article is about shoes. In the title above, word man is taken for both men and women but the article is dedicated to pretty womens’ shoes.

Shoes may vary from a simple flip-flop to a complex boot. Shoes may have high or low heels, although in western cultures, high heels are considered a women's style.
The earliest known shoes date from about 8000 to 7000 BCE and were found in Oregon, USA in 1938. However, the materials used for making shoes do not normally last for thousands of years, so shoes were probably in use long before this.

A girl’s wardrobe must have 6-7 pairs of shoes for different purposes.

There is a large variety of shoes available for women, in addition to most of the men's styles being more accepted as unisex. Some broad categories are:

Pumps: known in the US and UK as ballerinas, ballet pumps or skimmers, are shoes with a very low heel and a relatively short vamp, exposing much of the instep. They are popular for warm-weather wear, and may be seen as more comfortable than shoes with a higher heel.

High heels: may be shoes with heels 2 inches (5 cm) or higher. They are often seen as having more sex appeal than low heels and are thus commonly worn by women for formal occasions or social outings.

Sneaker boot and sneaker pump: a shoe that looks like an athletic shoe, but is equipped with a heel, making it a kind of novelty dress shoe.
Ranging from casual to party to office, shoes must fill the requirement of the occasion.

Leisure is a serious business, a business where ergonomic design, comfort and flexibility demand maximum attention. With jeans and smart tees in casuals, shoes must be like flat ballerinas, cool flip-flop or a pair of loafers. Else, sport shoes are universally accepted with every casual outfit especially jeans.
If you want to wear Jeans for some party, make sure you make a style statement with a high pencil heel ranging from 3-5 cms.
Whether it is a cocktail party or a mehendi and sangeet function, you can find sandals embellished with sequins and swarovski crystals, acrylic heels and vibrant colours.

Suits and sarees look elegant with shoes having some sort of heels. Properly colormatched and stylish sandals add a lot to your persona. In case your dress has more than 2 colors, choose shoes that is colored a major part of your outfit.

Shoes must be worn according to the activity and purpose for maximum comfort and style. A very famous job portal says, “Caught in the wrong Job”, for a person not fitting well in the job profile. Same goes true for shoes of many girls who don’t team up the shoes and occasion well and wear platforms or heels for activities like trekking and cycling. Result at the end of the day is pain in heels and tired feet.

For official wear, Pamper your feet with truly elegant style that will be sure to leave an impression. Corporate office wear comprises of versatile, comfortable shoes with few stylistic elements such as buttons and buckles that complete the power-dressing wardrobe for today's woman, without compromising the feminine touch. Try to wear shoes that make minimal noise as that noise can be a source of disturbance for many colleagues of yours. ;)
Preferably wear flat and comfortable shoes for jobs that require more of walking or sitting as tight or elastic straps stops the blood circulation and swelling results out of it.

Proper attention should be taken while you are traveling and the most comfortable shoes should be selected for that. Try to wear shoes that are open like open flat sandals or flip- flops so that the feet get to breath and the heels don’t start paining.

Our heels carry the entire body weight and they should be taken very good care of.
A few tips for your feet to make your shoes look more beautiful:

1. Toes should be neatly trimmed and painted and heels should be smooth and clean.
2. Shoes should fit properly from both front and rear.
3. Cracked heels are a BIG NO and many times can be a reason for embarrsement.
4. If your feet smell and sweat a lot, apply some anti fungal powder (available at all chemist shops) before wearing shoes so that at the end of the day feet don’t smell and they look fresh.
5. Dip and wash your feet with luke warm water so that all the dirt is cleaned and feet look clean and beautiful.
6. Don’t take dirty feet on bed as it can be source of many diseases.

I love spending on shoes more then on anything like cosmetics or jewellery. :)
